Upcycling
Empty recycled plastic bottle.
Acrylic paints (white, and 2 or 3 colors of your choice)
Paintbrushes
Box knife
Pencil
Vivid marker
Paper
First, pick the recycled bottle that you want to make into a planter. Second, choose how you are going to cut it. Next, use a vivid marker to mark out where to cut the bottle. Then, cut the bottle using scissors or a box knife. Next, sandpaper the bottle to make the edges less sharp and so that the paint stays. After that, paint the bottle white and let it dry. On your piece of paper, draw your tessellation. A tessellation is a shape that fits together with another of itself. Then, apply a second coat of paint and let it dry. Draw your design on your bottle VERY LIGHTLY in pencil. Next, paint your design and let it dry. Then, paint the last coat. When the last coat dries, paint it over with PVA glue. Let it dry. Do a second coat of PVA glue.
On Scratch, we made short videos about transformation. the four things of transformation are rotation, reflection, enlargement, and translation. Rotation is where you rotate, reflection is where you reflect, enlargement is where you get bigger and translation is where you move somewhere.
